Two people are dead after a car mounted the sidewalk and hit three pedestrians near Bathurst St. and Steeles Ave. W. this morning. The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. at Steeles and Carpenter Rd, hitting three pedestrians, police say. The driver and one of the pedestrians, an 87-year-old woman, have died. The other two pedestrians have been sent to hospital, one woman with life-threatening injuries and a man with minor injuries, police say.
