Iraq war 10th Anniversary: General blames lack of planning for loss of life; ENGLAND: London: National Army Museum: INT Lieutenant General Sir Graeme Lamb during interview with ITN reporter Lieutenant General Sir Graeme Lamb (Former senior British officer in Iraq) interview SOT - assumption that we would get catastrophic success and it would all just fold into a new democracy, not a bad thought, but hope isn't a plan in my book - (post invasion planning) it was pretty hopeless - on consequences of not having a great plan - (on whether fewer British troops would have died) yes, probably / the outcome would have been better - on the lesson from these interventions - for those people who have lost loved ones..this is a never ending nightmare that will not go away / (soldiers) were in the greatest of company, they believed in what they were doing ..doing their duty.. in the very finest of traditions of 300 years of history
