Senator Schumer summarizes net neutrality aims

New York Senator Charles Schumer says Democrats do not want Internet service providers to sell faster service to those who could pay and slower service to others, charging more for favorite sites avoid giving the Internet into packages like cable TV, that big corporations and those who could pay for speedy delivery while startups, small businesses, public schools, communities of color and for all Americans were disadvantaged. Schumer says the era of the free and open Internet would soon come to the end and providers would be given the ability to start charging more for preferred service, so to treat the Internet like a public good, water companies or phone companies that cannot discriminate, would not restrict access to interstate highways and should not do that with the Internet either.
