Bessie Love - Actress
Bessie Love, American film star in both silent movies and talkies, circa 1940. She enjoyed a career of great variety working with some of the most popular leading men and directors of the day and was offten compared to Mary Pickford. Love is credited with being the first person to dance the Charleston on film, popularising it in the United States and documented in a series of photographs by Edward Steichen.
