(FILES) -- A bronze shoe sculpture honouring Iraqi reporter Muntazer al-Zaidi, who gained global fame by throwing his footwear at former US president George W. Bush in Baghdad on December 14, 2008, stands atop a white pedestal in Tikrit, the hometown of executed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, during an unveiling ceremony on January 27, 2009. The huge shoe sculpture, standing three metres high (about 10 feet), by Iraqi artist Laith al-Ameri, was dismantled two days after it's unveiling an official told AFP on January 31, 2009. "We have removed the shoe statue of Muntazer al-Zaidi, because we received an order to do so from the governor Salaheddin province," said Shaha al-Juburi, head of the children's foundation where the bronze sculpture had been erected.
