Kennesaw Mountain

27th June 1864: US Civil War 1861-65. The Atlanta Campaign. Major General William T. Sherman sent Union forces to attack Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston's entrenched position at Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia, which protected the rail supply link to Atlanta.
