World War One - Major James McCudden

Last respects being paid at the grave of Major James Thomas Byford McCudden of the 60th squadron of the Royal Air Force, who died in Northern France on 9th July 1918. By March 1918, he had been credited with over 50 kills. An example of this is that on the morning of 16th February, he destroyed 3 German 2 seater aircraft and destroyed a 4th that afternoon. He participated in the action which led to the death of one of the top German aces, Werner Voss. On 2nd April 1918, he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
