Also, there are fewer volunteers due to Covid-19, Coronavirus pandemic. Volunteers who are sixty years old and older have been asked to stay home for safety reasons. There are 5,500 volunteers across the 3 campuses in San Diego, Escondido and Oceanside, California. Animals shelters across the United States are emptying out thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, as people confined to their homes are adopting or fostering animals in droves.
