PA Library filer dated 28th June 1951 : Film director Charles Crichton, meets Queen Mary, before she attended the charity premier of the directors "The Lavender Hill Mob" at the Odeon Marble Arch. Charles Crichton, who made some of the brightest Ealing comedies and returned to the big screen for A Fish Called Wanda, has died, his family said tonight, Tuesday 14th September 1999.
