Lucy Ware Webb Hayes (1831 - 1889), wife of American president Rutherford B Hayes circa 1875. A highly educated young lady, she was well loved by the men of her husband's regiment, and a popular hostess even though she prohibited the consumption of alcohol at White House functions.
