Texas University Sniper at His Wedding

(Original Caption) 8/17/1962-Needville,TX- Newlywed Charles J. Whitman is all smiles as he leaves St. Michael's Catholic church in Needville, TX, with his bride, Kathleen, after their their marriage. On August 1st, 1966 Whitman climbed to the observation deck of the 27-story University of Texas tower and during a wild shooting spree killed 15 persons and wounded 33 others. Among the dead was his wife, killed that night before the sniper attack.
