UNITED KINGDOM - AUGUST 06: Photograph by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe (1853-1941) of women sorting the day�s catch on the quayside, surrounded by baskets of fish. Women had the task of gutting the fish before it was salted in barrels or went fresh to market. Sutcliffe is best known for his naturalistic and spontaneous style of photography, especially his portrayals of Whitby's fishing community.
