Stans, SWITZERLAND: Runners compete during the first ever long distance race that involves running backwards up a mountain, 20 August 2006 in Stans, central Switzerland. The 11 kilometres race from Stans to 1,900 metre (6,270 feet) Stanserhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps is part of a "retro-running" world championship involving some 42 competitors from four countries since June, said organiser Rinaldo Inaebnit. 9 runners started today's race.
