N. Brasiliensis

This micrograph reveals a granule with an eosinophilic border, i.e. Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon, due to N. brasiliensis in a case of nocardiosis, 1971. Due to the presence of the Nocardia brasiliensis bacteria, a chronic inflammatory response brings about the formation of an eosinophilic-staining coating called the Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon that will surround the bacterial pathogens.
