A sunny afternoon telephoto view shows heron-hooded dancers in the Daigyoretsu Parade, proceeding through Senso-ji Temple's Hozo-mon Gate during Sanja Matsuri (Three Shrine Festival, an annual Shinto festival dating to the 7th century, that since the Edo Period has become one of Tokyo's wildest traditional celebrations), held at Asakusa Jinja (a Shinto shrine dating to 1649), and at adjacent Senso-ji (Tokyo's oldest Buddhist temple, founded in 648), located in the old downtown shitamachi Asakusa district of Taito Ward in eastern Tokyo, Japan.
