The Japan Sea Ororon Line is the nickname given to the roads, including Route 231 and Route 232, which stretch from Otaru to Wakkanai in Hokkaido for a distance of about 380 km. Ororon is alternative name in Japanese for the common guillemot "Uria aalge", which is found on Hokkaido's Te-uri Island. The Ororon Line follows the coastline, providing superb, sweeping views, making it a popular touring route.
