ERIC HOLDER ANNS MAN BEHIND IRAN TERROR PLOT

SOT - ERIC HOLDER Manssor Arbabsiar, a naturalized United States citizen who holds an Iranian passport and who was arrested last month in New York, is accused of working with members of the arm of the revolutionary guard core to devise an international murder for hire scheme targeting the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States. Attorney General, Eric Holder speaking at a press conference to announce that two men, known as Manssor Arbabsiar and Gholam Shakuri have been charged for allegedly attempted to carry out a deadly plot that was directed by factions of the Iranian government to assassinate Saudi ArabiaÕs ambassador to the United States. The press conference was held on October 11, 2011. Iran has strongly denied any involvement in what the US says was a plot by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' elite Quds force to kill the Saudi ambassador by hiring assassins from a Mexican drug cartel for $1.5 million. News of the alleged plot has sent tensions soaring between Tehran and Washington, who have had issues for more than 30 years ever since Islamic students took US diplomats hostage in their embassy in Tehran after Iran's 1979 revolution.
