Cape of Good Hope: The most South-Western point of African continent
WESTERN CAPE PROVINCE, SOUTH AFRICA - SEPTEMBER 22: Anadolu Agency Video News on Thursday (Sept. 22) videoed the Cape of Good Hope, a rocky headland on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula in South Africa.
Cape of Good Hope is among the most visited places by tourists in Western Cape province as it is the dividing point between the Atlantic and Indian oceans.
As one of the great capes of the South Atlantic Ocean, the Cape of Good Hope has long been of special significance to sailors, many of whom refer to it simply as "the Cape".
The cape is a nature reserve within the Masa Mountain National Park (TMNP) and is home to hundreds of plant and animal species, most of which are unique to this region.
The bottom of the dangerous waters of the Cape of Good Hope is famous for its winds and storms. It have been the subject of sea legends such as the "Flying Dutchman" is described as a "ship graveyard" by many people.
Western Cape Province, the country's tourism hub and producer of grapes, fruits, and wines, is one of South Africa's nine provinces and home to several minority groups.
