General election: 2010: David David Cameron speaks to workers at Warburtons Bakery in Bolton; David Cameron MP speech SOT- You shouldn't have to pay more taxes to pay for government waste / We are talking about saving £1 out of every £100 the government spends / If you think what businesses and shopkeepers had to save in this recession, and families, why don't we get government to do the same thing / Government can do it, should do it, and if I am running the government we will do it / By doing that we won't waste money so that we have to put up taxes / Key issue in this election David Cameron MP Q&A session SOT- (Asked about making popular decisions when there is no money) Whoever wins the general election is going to have to make cuts in public spending / Important to cut out waste first / Make House of Commons 10% smaller / Cut ministers pay by 5% / Get rid of regional assemblies / Not do national identity cards / To be truthful we are going to have to make difficult decisions / If we get elected there has to be a public sector pay freeze / Many private sector businesses have had a pay freeze, shorter working time / Only fair public sector does its bit / Also say to families on higher earnings they can't expect to get all the benefits they currently get / Also bring forward later retiring time to 2016
