Attending today's press conference on Grooming Gangs, hosted by the Conservative Leader and Shadow Home Secretary, are Fiona Goddard, a survivor who has waived her right to anonymity to share her story, Marlon West, the father of abuse survivor Scarlett and leader of the campaign for a national inquiry, Theresa Smith, whose son was abused and has since passed away, and Lucia Rea, a campaigner and advocate for many victims both dead and alive. The Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, had ordered a rapid three-month review of previous inquiries into the scale of child sexual exploitation in England and Wales, commissioned by the Conservative government, describing the decades of offences as a "stain on our society" and this week ordered a national inquiry.
