Congressman Walden notes information vacuum as cannabis legalized, research restricted
Retiring Oregon Congressman Greg Walden of the House Energy and Commerce Committee says in debate on a bill to allow cannabis research that federally sanctioned researcher could only study marijuana sourced through the national Institute of drug abuse on a single DEA license at the University of Mississippi, chemically distinct from that commercially available in the state dispensaries such as in Oregon which meant there was little or no data on the actual health impacts of products in the states leaving an information vacuum, with less understanding of what it did in virtually any nutritional sub Bowman currently on the market and far less than known for legal substances easily abuse like alcohol or tobacco none knew THC levels states had to separate legal limits for purposes of food consumption in drivers simply arbitrary.
