Several wallabies were seen fleeing a towering bushfire that raged near a wilderness retreat on South Australia' Kangaroo Island on January 3. Greg Slade, who captured the footage from his car, told Storyful the animals fleeing the fire are tammar wallabies. Slade was the acting manager at the http://www.kiwr.com/ Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat , which is closed until further notice due to fire damage. "I had all my staff and customers evacuated. I remained back to protect the property as much as I could," Slade said.
