COPENHAGEN, DENMARK - NOV. 7, 2024: The footage was captured in Denmark's colourful capital, Copenhagen, on Thursday (Nov. 7).RAMS Basaksehir faces Copenhagen FC, the team representing Denmark’s capital, in an away match in the UEFA Conference League.Founded more than 100 years ago, the club adopted the name FC Copenhagen in 1992 and are Denmark's most successful football team with 15 league titles to their name.Located on the east coast of the island of Zealand, Copenhagen is Denmark's most populous city with a population of around 1.4 million and a coastline that stretches along the Baltic Sea.Copenhagen is separated from the Swedish city of Malmö by the Öresund Strait, and the two cities are connected by the Öresund Bridge, which serves both rail and road traffic.The name 'Kobenhavn' translates as 'Merchant's Harbour' and Copenhagen has deep historical roots, having been one of Scandinavia's major cultural and trading centres during the Viking Age.Denmark remained neutral during the First World War, but Copenhagen suffered considerable damage when the country was occupied by Nazi forces during the Second World War.Among the must-see places in the capital is Nyhavn (New Harbour), known for its colourful, eye-catching houses.The famous fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen once lived in Nyhavn, adding to its charm.Tourists to Copenhagen are also drawn to iconic sites such as the statue of the Little Mermaid, Rosenborg Castle and Tivoli Gardens.
