The Blind Institute of Technology teams up with Uber to give free rides to the visually impaired

There are 20 million blind and visually impaired people in the U.S. and only 26.8% of them are employed full time. But Mike Hess, a Colorado local and the founder of the Blind Institute of Technology, has struck a new deal with the mobile app company Uber to offer free rides to the visually impaired to and from their job interviews. Uber is starting the program in Colorado and has plans to expand the service nationwide.
