An Australian snake catcher was called to remove a carpet python from some garden netting at a school in Caloundra, Queensland, video https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=675357787133252 uploaded on October 10 shows. Stuart McKenzie of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 posted a video on Facebook of him gently cutting a snake, which he calls a "poor little python," free after it became entangled in garden netting at a school. He said he thought the reptile was looking for rodents in the veggie gardens. McKenzie stated in the video's caption "this looks painful," adding that this kind of entanglement is one of the worst things that could happen to a snake. "It can frequently result in injuries and, in some cases, a long and slow death if not discovered quickly." McKenzie was able to safely remove the snake from the net and the premises, and he stated in the video that even though the snakeÊappeared to be fine with minimal swelling, he would take him to the wildlife hospital to be sure.
