Snake Treated to 5-Star Dining Experience While Devouring Rat at Queensland Hostel

A carpet python was treated to a luxury dining experience as it feasted on a rat outside of a hostel in Queensland. Chris Bale said he filmed the footage on February 22 showing his friend and fellow waiter Taka Bush pouring a glass of wine next to the feasting snake. Bale said the pair were having a chat at Cool Bananas Backpackers in Agnes Waters after finishing work at a nearby restaurant, when they heard the python devouring the rat. "We looked over and a few metres away, a carpet python was eating a large rat in our garden. Having never seen this in person before, we decided to get out phones out and quickly film it," Bale told Storyful. "Taka realised he had a coaster from work in his pocket and decided the rat needs a glass of red wine to go with his meal," he said. (Footage by Chris Bale/Storyful via Getty Images UGC)
