Central and western Texas was under a https://twitter.com/NWSAmarillo/status/1675597496691879937 severe thunderstorm watch on July 2 as hail and winds of up to 70mph were forecasted. Video filmed by Chad Casey in Amarillo, Texas, shows dust towering above the road, creating poor visibility for drivers, with some opting to turn on their hazard lights. "Near zero visibility along HWY 287 SE of Amarillo," Casey https://twitter.com/WxFanaticCC/status/1675671420829925376 wrote in the post containing the video. According to the National Weather Service, the main storm https://twitter.com/NWSAmarillo/status/1675711114330652672/photo/1 has since dissipated from central and western Texas, but storms could form in Nebraska later in the night.
