The gilded İftar Pavilion and the marbled terrace were built in 1641. the Bower offers a view on the Golden Horn. Its ridged cradle vault with the gilded roof was a first in Ottoman architecture with echoes of China and India. Sultan Ibrahim is said to have had his Iftar here, i.e. the evening meal after sunset during Ramadan.
