Liam Fox interview on Libya conflict; Liam Fox interview SOT- On whether capability will be affected by cuts / some said we would not be able to carry out a campaign like LIbya while in Afghanistan, that has been shown to be completely wrong / army and navy have worked extremely well, and RAF attacks last night / have been able to do that with the forces available / precision weaponry prosecuted with minimum civilian casualties / UK occupies moral high ground- On criticism of NATO / NATO has worked extremely well / disappointing that some NATO partners chose not to be involved in this / debate to be had about why some countries chose not to be involved / NATO is not an a la carte menu- On how long now for NATO mission in Libya / euphoria at fall of regime / regime been in place long time and considerable military capabilities / they could resist for some time / essential NATO continues focus to protect population / this is not a time to take eye off ball / ground may seem messy / cities like Tripoli with 2 million people offer opportunities for small groups to resist / new authority is emerging, funding and NATO continuing to act / it is not unravelling, there is steady progress being made / this regime was well dug in and the international community must continue with patient resolve to guarantee protection of Libyan population
