Timelapse footage of an intense mountain wave cloud, with updrafts marked by a sharp cloud boundary, along which are streaks of virga (falling precipitation that does not hit the ground). Mountain wave clouds are formed when air is lifted as it passes over mountains, cooling it and causing condensation. Filmed in the USA in late afternoon in the autumn.
