BAFTA nominations announced; Mark Kermode (Film critic) interview SOT - I think what's interesting is that 'An Education' has turn as well as it has done..it's right up there with the main contenders..Carey Mulligan has helped its cause...it happens here at the Bafta rather than the American ceremonies. 'Precious' has done well considering toughness of subject matter Think Best Director category is always very hard to call...Avatar is the great big blockbuster...Cameron is biggest star in film in many ways.Think Best actress category is interesting, think Carey Mulligan has a good chance...Serkis would be my choice for best actorre supporting actor Christoph Waltz and Christian Mackay...he's great in Orson Welles / Animated - it will be Up..think the first ten mins of Up are the best...a kids movie about grown up things. when you look at any particular year... there are great and bad films...this has been a diverse year
