SpaceX's Starship 36 exploded during a https://www.facebook.com/cameroncountyconstablepct1/videos/617538194685730" routine static fire test after experiencing a https://x.com/SpaceX/status/1935572705941880971" "major anomaly" at the test stand in Starbase, Texas, on Wednesday, June 18. Video captured by Andrew C/rocketfuture.org shows the ship blow up and catch fire, shooting debris into the air as smoke fan out from the launch pad. "I was at Starbase filming engine tests, which I usually do," the source told Storyful. "This one ended in a large explosion. I was about 1.8 miles from the explosion." "Our Starbase team is actively working to safe the test site and the immediate surrounding area in conjunction with local officials. There are no hazards to residents in surrounding communities, and we ask that individuals do not attempt to approach the area while safing operations continue," SpaceX https://x.com/SpaceX/status/1935572705941880971" announced in a post on X. Cameron County Constable Precinct 1 https://www.facebook.com/cameroncountyconstablepct1/videos/617538194685730" said no injuries were reported and an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the incident.
