J. Robert Atkinson Reading Moon Type

(Original Caption) New publications being planned for blind readers...The Braille Institute of American, Inc., in Los Angeles, founded by J. Robert Atkinson, is one of the most interesting print shop of its kind in the country. Mr. Atkinson, blind himself for 21 years, knows the need of his blind fellows and with this need in mind, he is working toward the realization of a monthly or semimonthly magazine to be printed in "moon type" containing a digest of the world's news. The Atkinson Moon Linotyper produces an embossed plate from which the printing is done, on ordinary plate presses, and these plates may be filed away and used over and over again for subsequent editions. This has been impossible before, as all the printing done in moon type were produced in England.
