KENYA-EDUCATION-CLIMATE-FLOODS

Pupils attend a lesson on March 14, 2014 inside a classroom whose tarpaulin-roof has been ripped following heavy rains the previous night at the Katuit primary school in Chesesoi village on the shores of the Kenyan rift valley's Lake Baringo. A few dozen students at the school have been cut-off by the swelling lake that has now risen to reclaim plains from which it had receded more than a decade ago, according to residents, and are now forced to navigate through swamps rife with submerged vegetation, hippo and crocodile to get to their weather-prone classrooms.
