KYIV, UKRAINE - 2024/03/15: Trainees react during a training simulating an evacuation mission in the trench organised by the third separate assault brigade in Kyiv region. Ukraine is facing a shortage of ammunition and military personnel. Aside from a tougher mobilisation law is under way, some brigades in the country have chosen a more encouraging approach to recruit people without previous military experience to join the army. The third separate assault brigade offers a 7-day free training course advertises to allow participants to have a taste of military training, enabling them to find their place in the army according to their skills and ability. Participants here are as young as 18 years old. When the war between Ukraine and Russia grind on for the second year mark, Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky revealed in last December the military wants to mobilise an extra 500,000 people.
