Cisadane River Estuary, Java, Indonesia 照片檔

An October 2011 photo of the Cisadane river discharging into the Java Sea, on the north coast of Java Island, to the west of Jakarta, Indonesia. The polluted waters of the Cisadane river are laden with sediments as it drains intensively developed agricultural and industrial lands on the outskirts of Jakarta. The river rises in the mountains above Bogor before passing through the coastal plain including Tangerang city. Prawn ponds dominate the immediate coastal landscape, before transitioning into rice paddies further inland.
