Groot Constantia 照片檔

Groot Constantia was one of the first vineyards planted in South Africa, in 1685. I was intrigued by the colourful alternate red and white rose bushes planted at the beginning of each row of vines. Charles Darwin, Jane Austen and Napoleon Bonaparte were amongst the famous people who enjoyed the wine from this estate in its glory years. In the 1990s wine from the estate returned to the world stage and Groot Constantia is popular with tourists visiting the Cape.
