Open Ackee (Blighia sapida) 照片檔

Ripe Ackee on the tree. The sign of the ackee’s ripeness is that the skin of the fruit has split exposing the flesh and the seeds. It is in this date that it is no longer poisonous and safe to eat. Ackee is key to Jamaica’s national dish, Ackee and salt fish.
